Why Wood World Trading

Buy Oak from the people who saw it.

We are a family-run sawmill in Serbia that works with one wood: European Oak. We cut it, dry it, grade it, measure it and load it ourselves. Here is what that means for you.

Consistency
Every bundle is graded by the same team to the same standard. What you approve on the first order is what you receive on the tenth.
Stability
A steady supply you can plan around. Agree a volume per month and we deliver it, month after month.
Reliability
A family business that has supplied Oak for more than 20 years. Clear specifications, honest grading, delivered as agreed.
Mill-direct prices
You buy from the sawmill itself. No traders in between, no added margins.
How we measure

Same board. Different price.

Two quotes can show the same €/m³ and still end in very different invoices. The difference is in how the boards are measured. Take one Oak board:

One board, as measured52 mm145 mm2,170 mm
Many suppliers invoice
Thickness52 mm0%
Width150 mm+3.4%
Length2,200 mm+1.4%
Price you pay+4.9%
We invoice
Thickness50 mm−3.8%
Width140 mm−3.4%
Length2,100 mm−3.2%
Price you pay−10.2%

Same board, same €/m³. Our invoice is 14.3% lower.

  • Thickness: invoiced at nominal size. A 50 mm board measures about 52 mm; you pay for 50.
  • Width: rounded down to the 10 mm below. 145 mm is invoiced as 140 mm.
  • Length: rounded down to the 10 cm below. 2,170 mm is invoiced as 2,100 mm.

When you compare quotes, compare the invoice, not just the €/m³.

From log to loading

One site. One team. Every step.

We sort the logs, saw them, dry them, grade them and load the container, all at our mill in Loznica. Every board you receive has passed through our own hands.

  1. 01

    Log yard

Oak logs from managed Serbian forests are sorted by diameter and quality before sawing.

  2. 02

    Sawing

Each log is opened to get the best yield of clear, straight-grained boards.

  3. 03

    Drying

Boards are stacked and kiln-dried to 8–12% moisture, or shipped fresh sawn.

  4. 04

    Grading

Every board is inspected and graded by hand to a single, consistent standard.

  5. 05

    Shipping

Bundles are strapped, labelled and loaded at the mill for delivery worldwide.

Experience

More than 20 years of Oak.

The Chami family has run the mill for more than 20 years. Our graders have spent years learning to read Oak, and the same people grade your first order and your hundredth.

Growing with you

Start small. Grow with us.

Start with one order and check the quality yourself. When it works, agree a monthly volume and we plan our sawing and drying around it.

As your business grows, your volume can grow with it. With more than 10,000 m³ of Oak logs cut a year and 2,000 m³ of kiln capacity, we have room for more.

One source

Every grade from one mill.

Six grades, from UWP to BC. Four standard thicknesses, kiln-dried or fresh sawn. All from one mill.

One supplier means one contact, one set of specifications and one grading standard. No differences between batches from different mills, and no need to check every supplier again.

Only Oak

One wood. All our attention.

We saw one wood only: European Oak, Quercus robur and Quercus petraea, slow-grown in the forests of the Balkans.

Every log is assessed before it is cut and sawn for the best yield of clear, straight-grained boards. We know this wood, and we care how it reaches you.
